Comment expliquer ce drame horrible dans un paisible village du Jura, où le couple sans histoire vivait avec ses trois enfants? A l’origine de ce drame : des difficultés financières mais surtout, une faillite sentimentale. Comment expliquer la dérive d’une situation d’emprise qui dégénère jusqu’au viol puis au meurtre ? Les témoignages des enfants, de la sœur de leur mère, et des amis du couple ont accepté de témoigner afin de comprendre la mécanique de ce drame emblématique. Chaque année, près de 90 000 femmes sont tuées de manière intentionnelle à travers le monde.
Our journalists investigate a feminicide which, by its violence, shocked the whole country. In October 2019, Christophe Keller slit his wife Melanie's throat before cutting his own. How to explain this tragedy that took place in a peaceful village in the Jura, where the couple lived with their three children? On the surface, the tragedy could only partially be accounted for by financial difficulties and sentimental bankruptcy. But how does one explain the drift of a situation where a helpless victim against the hold taken on her partner is eventually raped and murdered? The children, their mother's sister, and also friends of the couple agreed to testify in order to understand the mechanics of this emblematic drama. Each year, nearly 90,000 women are intentionally killed by their partner or ex-partner throughout the world.
