I Have Mourned My Breasts
At only 27 years of age, Floriane is confronted with a particularly difficult surgery: a preventive double mastectomy. She has inherited BRCA1 gene mutation, which dramatically increases her risk of developing breast cancer. Her family medical history brought about her first biopsies. Then followed the numerous controls, the intensive medical supervision and eventually her final decision. How to accept this mutilating operation and a breast prosthesis at such a young age? This is a portrait of a woman during her difficult and painful journey through cancer prevention, fraught with doubts and fears, but also with hope.
