Naïma, a 24-year-old Swiss woman, has to walk on eggshells when negotiating outings with her Moroccan-born parents. Vijitha, whose parents immigrated from Sri Lanka, struggled to bring them around to her decision not to marry a Tamil man. Vjona, 18, doesn't always feel understood by her parents who are raising her as an Albanian. Astor, a 17-year-old Black teenager born in Biel to Angolan parents, talks about the raw nicknames he and his Black and mixed-race friends use with each other—no holds barred, without an ounce of racism. This is the Switzerland of "secondos"—told straight from the shoulder, the story of young people both torn and strengthened by their dual identity.
