Overcoming The Impossible
This documentary film is the story of two activists crossing paths. In the Brazilian state of Bahia, 26-year-old Hamangai is an active indigenous advocate for her people’s environment and right to life. Anita, a biologist, has been fighting for over 40 years to preserve Brazilian primary forests and reforest land threatened by deforestation. Their meeting is much more than a reforestation project from Pedra Talhada, where Anita lives, to Pau Brasil, Hamangai’s home. And it’s not just about planting trees to preserve the natural water cycle. In a convergence of struggles and generations, they will make each other grow and renew their faith in the fight for ecological justice and a more sustainable future.
