Climbing To The Light, A Vertical Journey
Suffering from constant tinnitus since he was a child, Roland lost his sight at age 35 due to a genetic disease. Five years ago, climbing threw him a lifeline. Accompanied by his friends, he rediscovers through this connection with nature the thrill of challenge, adventure, and lightness of being. "I live in a bubble of ink, my days are white, my nights are black, but my dreams are in full color," says this man who savors every second of his life with intensity. Memories, scents, and images remain crystal clear, exactly as he experienced them 20 years earlier. The same goes for the faces of his wife and children, frozen in time in his memory, before the disease robbed him of his sight. This uplifting documentary bears witness to a story of resilience, love, family, and friendship that leaves us both humbled and in awe.
