When Dealers Rule the Streets

We explore one of Lausanne’s working-class neighbourhoods that has been invaded by drug dealers. A family-friendly multicultural neighbourhood where life was good until petty sellers of marijuana and cocaine showed up. Local inhabitants and shopkeepers now barricade themselves in at night. For lack of appropriate legislation and means of action, the police rarely intervene, which merely reinforces the community’s feeling of abandonment and isolation.
