Patrick Blanc, The Plant Man
From the Quai Branly in Paris to Kuala Lampur and Dubai, Patrick Blanc's vertical gardens have been beautifying peri-urban façades around the world for nearly 30 years. The erudite botanist has set up nearly 500 plant walls, like abstract paintings to the glory of nature within the city. Reconciling beauty and science, the lush creations of Patrick Blanc have made him an out-of-the-ordinary botanist and artist. At a time when we keep worrying about global warming, his work is a breath of fresh air and a call to give the vegetable world its rightful place in our cities.
