Is international adoption on its last legs?  Some countries , like Switzerland, The Netherlands or Denmark  are thinking about calling it quits. And yet adopting children internationally is, more than ever, an uphill battle. Following past abuses and missteps, the conditions for adoption have become tougher in many countries. Countries of origin like Thailand are still flying the flag for adoption, emphasizing that the Hague Convention provides rock-solid ethical guarantees. How does an international adoption unfold today? What are the on-the-ground support networks and official channels? What if banning international adoption only looked good on paper? We followed Nicolas and Stéphanie's highly emotional journey as they were about to bring  home their two children from Thailand. After riding the emotional roller coaster of worry, and doubt, they can finally be proud and happy parents.
