Eating Disorders, Life On A Thread
Lia, Anouck, Eline and Sébastien suffer from anorexia, bulimia or alternate between the two. Eating disorders are still often taboo, confusing and poorly understood. Yet they are real mental illnesses, with serious long-term effects that can be fatal. This survey gives the floor to patients and their parents, testifying to long medical wanderings, and even inadequate treatment. Traditional psychiatric care seem ill-suited to these patients. And the lack of specialized facilities is yet another cause of concern. But it is there that these young people can rebuild their relationship with their bodies, which they have subjected to extreme suffering, often via social networks. These patients begin a long road to recovery.
