Take the Belgian giant Umicore, that for nearly 40 years has been denying the contamination and toxicity of the soil around its former mines in the Cévennes region of France. Or the Majid Al Futtaim Group, a Dubai-based holding whose indoor ski slopes in the Middle East are a far cry from a greener world. Or DWS, the German asset management subsidiary of Deutsche Bank, who fired whisleblower Desiree Fixler for denouncing their greenwashing.
