Intimate portrait of a young woman farmer captivated by her passion for cows. With 18 years old, Michelle leaves school to work in a farm. Four years later, she catches the unexpected opportunity to rent a farm in the Bernese Jura to fulfill her dream. Without financial support, the beginnings are though, night work being added to the long day spend at the farm. She has to face the great skepticism of her farmers neighbours who have seen her begin with four cows, one of them being as old as her. Today her strong desire for independence leads her to fix her old tractor as well as cutting trees herself. Without worrying about being judged by others, she claims that her cows, Rhaetian grey cattle, are the center of her life. A free and passionate existence, where toughness finds respite in music. Multi-instrumentalist, accomplished musician, Michelle practices also yodeling, which is according to her, the musical transcription of farmers’ life.
