Parkinson's And Me

This documentary tells the story of a metamorphosis. Of a return to life thanks to science, after years of suffering. Yves Auberson was diagnosed with Parkinson's at age 35. 17 years later, his life is still a daily struggle, a long walk full of pitfalls and challenges. In less than 100 days, after having crossed nearly 40 passes , he completed his tour of the Swiss Alps on foot. Night and day, always on the move, he still struggles not to give in to muscle atrophy because of the disease progression. During an impressive operation, he received electrodes in his brain for deep stimulation, in order to reharmonize his movements. At the end of his rehabilitation, Yves's life was completely turned around. He is now an augmented man. His story is a great hope for all people affected by Parkinson's. Forecasts assume there might be twice as many Parkinson's disease patients in the next 20 years as there are today.
