The Secret Of The Cloud Forest
In the North of Ecuador, the Los Yaltes ecological reserve is an endangered forest. French film-maker Philippe Moulin has dedicated 25 years of his life to saving Los Yaltes from deforestation, through environmental fight and scientific research.Located on a mountain and topped by a seasonal cloud cover at the canopy level, this “cloud forest” is home to hundreds of animal species and thousands of plants. Most of them are still to be discovered. Philippe Moulin carries out research on endemic species with scientists from all around the world. He has raised awareness of the need to protect the forest, and to develop new sources of income for local communities.
