The Silent Path To Mustang

Watch Video
PDF
Mustang is one of the most isolated valleys in the world hidden amid 8000-metre-high Himalayas. A 200km walk at an 11,000m graduated rise in altitude brings us to the mesmerizing landscapes of the capital Lo Manthang. Here, for the past 10 years, Italian art restorer Luigi Fieni has worked to revive a unique Buddhist art heritage. The process includes restoring 13th-century mandalas painted on the walls of often inaccessible caves thanks to the meticulous work of his Nepalese students. We plunge into the heart of Buddhism, its spirituality and pristine purity, at the crossroads of art, religion and friendship, at 4300m altitude.
