In West Africa, the Lebanese reign supreme on the business of used car that are trans-shipped through the port of Antwerp to African ports. Togo has become the main gateway, boosting an already fast-growing specialized economy that benefits many. But as Switzerland, just like most other European countries, are proud to drive clean, green activists point to the negative environmental impact of these end-of-life vehicles.
