The prices for second homes in the mountains are skyrocketing. With the pandemic, more urbanites have become aware of their environment and some have make up their mind to get to higher ground. In some regions, searches on real estate websites have increased by 50 to 100% shortly followed by escalating property sale prices. As a result of a greater tolerance to teleworking, a new migration from cities to the mountains exodus is underway. Ultra-luxury chalets in high-profile ski resorts like Verbier continue to find byuers. And so do chalets with no running water nor electricity in more remote areas.
